China eSIM: Plans, Prices and How to Get Online

China eSIM plans and live prices with QR code activation

China is the destination we stock deepest: 30 active plans, from a $2.66 three-day starter to a 90 GB month. That range exists because “China” covers very different trips — a four-day business visit, a two-week tour, a semester of study.

This page shows every live plan and price in one table, explains the difference between our two China plan families, and tells you which one to buy for your trip length.

The short answer

A trip of 3–7 days with normal use (maps, messages, a few photos): the 1 GB/day daily plan — $3.55 for 3 days, $6.88 for 7 days.

Two weeks or longer, or a lot of video: the 10 GB total plan for 30 days at $10.01 — one pool of data you spend however you like.

Heavy use every single day: 3 GB/day for 30 days at $50.78 — up to 90 GB, the lowest cost per gigabyte in the catalog.

Daily data or total data — pick one

  • Daily data plans — You get a fixed allowance that resets every day at midnight. A 1 GB/day plan gives you 1 GB each day for the length of the plan. Unused data does not carry over. Choose this when you want a predictable floor — you can never be cut off halfway through the trip.
  • Total-data plans — You buy one pool of data — 10, 20 or 30 GB — that lasts for the validity period. Spend 3 GB on day one if you like. When the pool is empty or the period ends, the plan ends. Choose this when your usage is uneven: light on travel days, heavy on work days.
  • What actually decides it — For trips under a week, the two families cost about the same; take the daily plan because it cannot run dry. For trips over two weeks, total-data plans are usually cheaper per gigabyte — a 30-day 10 GB plan is $10.01, while 1 GB/day for 30 days is $21.34.

Before you buy

  • Your phone must be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked — a locked phone will install the profile but refuse to connect.
  • Install the eSIM before you fly, on airport Wi-Fi. The QR code arrives by email within minutes of ordering.
  • Turn the line on when you land and enable data roaming — that is what makes the plan start.
  • Your regular SIM stays in the phone; use it for calls and keep the eSIM as your data line.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a China eSIM cost?
Live prices start at $2.66 for a 500 MB/day plan over 3 days and $3.55 for 1 GB/day over 3 days. Total-data plans start at $10.01 for 10 GB over 30 days. The full table above is generated from the catalog, and each plan links to its product page.
When does my China plan start?
The plan starts when you first connect in China, not when you buy it. That means you can order days in advance, install the eSIM at home, and still get the full validity period from the day you land.
Will apps like WhatsApp, Google Maps or Instagram work?
This depends on how your particular plan routes its data, and it differs between plans. If unrestricted access to those apps is essential for your trip, contact us before you buy and we will tell you which China plans are suitable — we would rather answer the question than have you find out on arrival.
How do I install the eSIM?
Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR code, and scan the code from your order email. Full step-by-step instructions for iPhone and Android are on the How It Works page. Do this on Wi-Fi before departure.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — unactivated eSIMs are fully refundable. Once a profile has been activated and connected to a network, the data has been consumed and the order cannot be refunded.
